Exported clips shot with EPIC to settings of DNxHD 36 8-bit etc...i get my mxf files but i go to put them in avidmediafile folder and there is no "1" folder as many say...I am new to AVID as ive been longtime FCP,so i am a bit lost.

I follow the steps of drop and drag AAF then attempt to link - but media files offline.

any thoughts? anyone have a workflow step by step to share? Would greatly appreciate.

You need to make sure that your mediafiles live in the right folder. MC will ONLY see media that resides in a path like X:/Avid MediaFiles/MXF/n[/n], where X: is a drive, and n is any number. If you are not sure how to do that, just open MC, go into any bin, and import a JPEG of some sort to that bin (specifying the drive/partition/volume you want your media to be). Click the resulting clip, choose File->Reveal File, and you will see where this fresh mediafile lives. That would be where Avid is looking for media to live. Don't place more than 5000 files into any MediaFiles folder. You can freely create a new subfolder 'n' (1,2,3,9,666, any number), and drag some media there. Avid will detect the media and rebuild the media databases. After that, the clips that were created when you brought in the AAF's will automatically link to that media. No need to relink.

Job you have any tips on keeping the R3D > AMA clips so that I can do my NLE in Avid then CC in Resolve?
The linked files in my AAF dont seem to show up in Resolve.
Errors state that the files dont exist.

Not sure, as I haven't gone that route. But I suspect an AAF export is not possible from AMA-linked clips. So you would normally transcode the clips (or the sequence) into the Avid for editing, then export AAF to Resolve, and in Resolve, AFAIK, you should be able to link back the AAF composition to the R3D's. Pretty sure that Michael P. will know the ins and outs of that worflow. I just downloaded Resolve Light, haven't been able to play with it yet, and probably won't for some time.... :(
