  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

ANY EPIC M owners in NYC area with a 2B-to-1B power cable?

All the EPIC-Ms I've seen had the cable included in the kit from RED.

Hi Mitch,

The 2b to 1b is a recommended cable when purchasing the EPIC-M package but not included.

Regards,

Yes, the 2b to 1b cable is an additional purchase. However, I have yet to see an EPIC-M without one... REDVOLTS only just shipping recently to the first few and all that.

So, now I'm scratching my head about the original poster's situation... They actually bought their EPIC without one?

Hey guys,
Thanks for the replies, it shipped separate from the body, but it's all sorted out now.

Thanks!

Dustin

I know someone who created Dtap to lemo power connections. Works awesome. use any battery you want with a dtap. Even saw it running off of Sony EX3 batteries.

Just an FYI, we got the cable, and used it adapted to an Anton Bauer plate. We used d90s on a handheld rig, with the new 18inch carbon rods, and it was very manageable, and fun. The new body size opens up so many new possibilities for cramped space. ONLY problem, the d90s could only get us through one shot or so before they lost charge. I'm sure the RED batteries will perform better.

Cheers!

Standard Dionic batteries should not be used. A regular lithium-ion battery is designed to only have up to half it's wattage capacity pulled from it at any given moment. So a Dionic 90 is only rated for use with a 45w draw. I believe the EPIC is about 60w, so that's no good for this battery which is why it quickly died on you. However Anton Bauer does now make the Dionic 90 HC battery, which is for High Capacity draw. This battery can draw right up to it's full load without penalty, 90w. So that should work just fine with the EPIC.
