PRODUCTION CREW - TripTV, Oahu, Maui, Big Island, Kauai.
[top] Fully Paid Starts: Immediately (3 months)

TripTV, a Denver based travel video marketing company, is looking for bids on an upcoming production in Hawaii from August 3 -19, 2011. The purpose of this production is to supplement existing footage in order to complete a marketing campaign for a major hotel brand with 11 properties located throughout the islands of Oahu, Maui, Kauai and the Big Island. Additionally, the successful bidder with continue the project through post-production. TripTV will provide and familiarize you with all previously captured content. You will be responsible for incorporating the shots you capture into the existing timelines to make compelling, ‘experiential’ marketing videos.

The existing footage was captured by two teams, one with a Red One and the second team with the Canon 7D and 1D DSLR cameras. To effectively combine the original with the new content, your bid must include production on one of the following camera rigs: Red One, Red Epic, Canon 7D, Canon 1D, or Sony FS100.

Your camera rig must include lens lengths ranging from 12mm through 200mm. You must have a working knowledge of lens filtration and must bring at least ND, ND Grads, Sunset Filter with the capability to combine multiple filters at once (Matte box).

Dynamic, moving shots are a requirement. You must have, in addition to a high-quality fluid-head tripod, additional support items that enable movement ie. Steadicam, Dolly, Jib, Slider, etc. Underwater shots are required. Aerial shots are required - TripTV will be making the arrangements for the aircraft.

Pre-production will begin immediately upon bid approval with support from TripTV. You should be prepared to develop production schedules and panel-based storyboards for approximately 4 or 5 short vignettes per property (11 properties). TripTV has an extensive library of photos from each property and the brand has a deep online content library that can both be drawn from for storyboard creation.

Post-Production will begin immediately upon completion of the production phase. You will be responsible for developing existing timelines (created using FCP 7) to incorporate the new footage. You will be responsible for finish editing including color-correction of the final, locked timelines. Input and feedback will be provided by TripTV and a brand representative via our online Project Management System.

Your response must include a flat rate, all inclusive budget – no extras or overtime - for the entire project from beginning to end including all expenses. Bids over $45,000 will not be considered. TripTV will be ONLY be responsible for hotel stays including one room per crew member (up to four) on each island, parking, Internet access, and meals on property (this would be during the times they offer staff service but does not include room service).

Is it just possible that they are useing any quotes they receive to beat down the guys they usually use?
Its an old ploy to get what they want but careing little for those who bid.
If they get an outrageously low bid then they move on.
Be careful of ads like these.
Cheers

Yeah, pretty much. I can understand the bid approach, that's how most industries work, but this is a bit screwy. These guys are headquartered in my town, BTW... I saw the job mention locally... I didn't bid, I don't like to be away that long, and these jobs almost always go to the bottom-feeders who practically work for free. ...this probably attracts a lot of those, it reads like an opportunity for a Hawaiian vacation with a bit of light work while you're there. Not to mention, it seems like a job for at least 2 people, probably 3, 4 or even more. It doesn't specify either way, but I get the impression that travel to/from Hawaii is not included, possibly island hopping would come out of your own pocket... Then they already set the price cap at $45K... Yep, not going to touch this one with a 10-foot pole.
