  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

WTB RED STATION COMPACT FLASH

Von, i'm pretty happy with my $30 CF reader....not sure why you would want to have such an expensive one....just seems to me CFs will soon be obsolete no? I was tempted to get one, but now that i'm fully SSD, i'm glad i did not. And if i ever need to off load a CF, i've got my good old $30 one. I'm being rather presumptuous here....and this is what you want......

Well, you are fortunate, but as I know, cheaper CF readers on a large production shoot, can and will foul out. Cheaper CF readers overheat, and with the volume of download transfers I do, I can no longer trust the regular CF readers. I've had experience with corrupt files due to over heating CF readers. Take my word for it. On small shoots, you can use cheaper units, but a 4 camera shoot, with constant downloads, no way will I trust a Lexar or other brands.

Enter RED Station, I've worked a feature for an entire month, not one corrupt file, Pirates had over 5000 downloads, not one issue, for me that is security. Now that you are SSD, you should not have any negative issues.
