  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

WTB: Zoomstick Cooke Zoom

I am also looking for zoom sticks for my Cooke zoom 25-250mm. The problem is the different thread !!!!!!!

Still looking for a zoom stick for a Cooke 20-100, which has different threads than the 18-100.
Thanks!

Dave

You mean that Sticks in the Picture ?

Maybe I can help but what that exactly mean ?

different threads

Yes, like the sticks in the picture.

Well, than I have two solutions for you. In the Picture the Zoom and Focussticks has a M4 Thread (Now I now what a Thread is) :smile5:

The crude solution if you dont find one which gives you a Zoomstick, is to try it with Thread pole (maybe M5 or M4) and some Tape.
The serious solution to let it make from a Man which has a Lathe. It cost a little bit, but you feel better at work.

I just forget to say, that i made that Zoom and Focusstick for a Cameraman in Vienna. I have a lathe and a thread-cutting die, so if you dont get a commercial solution I can made such Zoomsticks.
The problem is, that I dont know the Thread of threaded hole from a Cook optik.

Ahem!!
This is a CANON K35 zoom in the picture. and the threads are different to Cooke..
Tony Covell.

Thanks, but that dont help us. Maybe one of the Asker be able to go in the next Tool shop and bye some Screws beginning with M4 M5 M6. If there fit one, you know the threading of the Zoomhole.
If there ist no fitting that can be than a withworth thread.

The other way ist to measure the Holes Minor Diameter with a Caliper, so for (Metric System) a M4 Screw has a Diameter from 3,2 mm, a M5 a Diameter of 4,2 mm and a M6 has a Diameter of 5 mm.
For a caliper I mean that:

Maybe that is a help for you.

A practical way to find out the exact threads is: Try the RED WINGNUTS either the 8mm or the 12mm. One of them fits nicely the Cooke zoom lens. At the moment I am using it, but its not the way to work. I am still looking for proper zoom sticks. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

I just tried to make a Zoomstick in Inox.

The technikal Data are; length 76mm; Diameter thick is 8 mm Diameter and thin 4 mm;

The thread ist 4mm and 5 mm long.
I can sell ist to anyone whitch is iterested on it, but you have to know the thread and the deph of the threadhole.
If you think the Sticks fits, just send me a PM.

Greetings
