When I "export media" there is no option for any ProRes. Is this an Adobe vs. Apple battle or is there a way to do this ?
thank you,
Michael

Hi,

I know that you can only do this on a mac. I don't use mac, but maybe it's under the quicktime format? if you go to quicktime there are a few options to choose from (at least here for me).

If you are not on a Mac, no chance. Apple never made an encoder for PC, only the decoder.

On the Mac you need FCP installed.

pc, dnxhd is free you could give that a try. best solution for pc so far though is cineform, but you have to pay for that. in many ways it out classes pro res, but free is always the best price in town...

Yes, but you must have Final Cut Pro installed. The option will be under Quicktime.

I do have final cut pro installed ? and am on a mac (I see "quicktime" but no option to specify what kind of quicktime. I must be blind ! hmmm

Michael, You have to choose quicktime and then "Setup". You´ll find it there.
(Sorry, made a mistake! I was thinking about Redcine).
