Okay this should be an option but I cant find it.

When using the bomb view (no touch screen), and using the re-mote for control how does one format a SSD drive?

On Redmote
Press Menu
use the D-Pad (arrows) to go to Media
then "Format Media"
then down to Format.

to set a reel number do the same and then hit the menu button.

Really.....sorry man, but all one has to do in this case is just breeze the pdf file or directions as they are usually called. and great thing about them is they aren't that many pages. and for some really basic stuff, like how to format how to attach LCD how to.......just go to directions before you waste precious air on the web. this is about as dummy proof camera as can get, but you have to make a friggin effort or at least an attempt at reading some directions. I would normally never give anyone a hard time about a post, but c'mon Mr. Roland. you should know better being a rental house and all....

I went through the manual and couldn't find the answer, and I think now I understand why I cant figure it out... because my "menu" button doesn't bring up a menu. seems I have a problem remote.

Your menu button won't "bring up" a menu. It toggles the menu items at the top of the display. If it's still not doing that, you may need to update the REDMOTE firmware. You should be on the latest 1.6.20 camera firmware and REDMOTE firmware v771.

It could also be a connection issue, you may need to reconnect the REDMOTE to your camera if it's not working.

Menu button should switch you between the two top quick displays/menu.

yeah....i guess you get a pass if your redmote is down. I think on this one i just pushed menu and went through it and saw the obvious. In fact i NEVER use the touchscreen...seems i need a hammer to get it to work.

Ive re-installed the firmware upgrade v771 and checked all connections and it works, thanks!
