  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

PM's...

Poor Jim. People are probably trying to get close to you all kinds of ways. Yeah, gotta guard the little time you do have for your family and self.

God Bless you brother.

Most of the time it is probably irrelevant contacting Jim, as you won't have much to contribute. You can send email of significance to him via reds main email, but did not hear anything to the last couple sent over the years.

LOL Now you've made me feel an old friend of yours...

Well, it doesn't mean I am, so old at least ;-) since I already am in my fourties. But when back to my thirties we could be in touch via PMs on cinematography.com or dvxuser. Those were the times when RED was only a scam :D I hadn't met Ted in person or I was yet trying to convince the infamous 'filmmaker's gang' (all of them, BTW :-) to adhere to this project and place our USD4500 reservations. Still there, five years done to begin last April. It looks like yesterday.

Greetings from old continent,

Emanuel :-)

I've also closed my Facebook account...

Jim

Facebook; bah!
I started a facebook account with the sole purpose of finding out if someone had died!
A couple of years back a guy I worked with 30 years ago phoned me out of the blue telling me about a funeral notice he'd spotted in a year-old newspaper, for somebody with the same (uncommon) surname as another guy who also worked with us at that time.
The only thing I could think of was to see if he had a facebook account. There was one in that name, and it listed some friends, but to contact them, I had to start my own account.
Turns out it was the same guy and we managed to get some details, but apart from that one instance, I've never really been able to see what the big attraction is with Facebook.
I managed to contact some old school friends I hadn't heard from for 40 years, but the conversation quickly dried up.
And I'm very much afraid the old adage still holds for Facebook as with High School reunions: Old school friends are like someone who's died after a long and debilitating illness: In most cases you're much better off remembering them as they were!

Speaking of old friends (no key where the italic is ;-) here they are... LOL :-)

Facebook, :rolleyes5:, I've saved three weeks a year by not joining, even with women inviting me (there's another three weeks) .

I'd be interested to know how many of the billions of people that are signed up to Facebook actually still use it? I have a Facebook account ,but look at it maybe once every 3 months, and that's only to post a new video I've been working on.

While I've been obviously joking about Facebook chats with Jim, I do use the site. It sends me birthday reminders, and sometimes it's kind of reassuring to see what some of my friends are up to without having to rely on hearsay.
