I'll post some pictures later on, but I am certain it was one of the best covered Bar Mitzvahs ever, not to mention the first with a scarlet and probably the only with 3 Epics, at least for a long time. I am not going to lie, it was a lot of work and I work on some pretty Gnarly jobs. Great fun though Ted and his family are the best.

The 2nd best part was the montage ted did of his sons life so far. it was chronological and for the first 8 or 9 years it was all family fun pictures with the whole family, then comes the pictures without ted and then thrown in were the pictures of ted on set with his red or reds or epics with big stars and directors...

The good news is the scarlet kept up, Ted used it as his daddy cam, on his lap shooting incognito.

Forgot to mention Ted had a 16 foot x 9 foot screen for the photo montage and a 2k projector...pretty cool dad huh! - all outdoors under the moon light.

Mazel Tov Matthew & Ted and the whole family, you all did a great job!

Hilarious! What, no Super Techno Crane? :) I'm sure it is the best Bar Mitzvah video ever made. Its probably the only one that gets watched on a 4K projector too. Congrats Matthew!

oh, forgot to say, over 1.4 TB of r3d's and 8 gigs of photos.

Wow! That's a lot of data :) Did you backup footage as you shot, or did you have a ton of SSDs and just backed up later? I'm curious to hear how your day was as a DIT with 4 cameras rolling. Thanks Dino.

the crew was me and tyler goeckner-zoeller with ted helping here and there. we had one camera locked off (256g ssd @8:1 with an AC cord), tyler operated another on a long lens getting closeups and i was hand held the whole time ( 2.5 hour service). ted had his scarlet in his lap and also in his hand when he stood.

after the ceremony we downloaded and replicated, and then continued to shoot throughout the night copying while we shot.

i brought my cart with a cube truck and we also had a small green screen set-up for some fun stuff we cant talk about publicly.

it was good fun.

Amazing! Four professional movie cameras rolling for 2.5 hours straight and only 3 people to do everything. Not an ideal situation I'm sure, but the fact that it can even be done is a miracle.

Thanks Red... Dino, you rule.

Heading back from the Ranch today. Wait till you all see the footage it's fantastic !! I pulled a bunch of EPIC stills over the weekend, (100MB Tiffs from the smaller EPIC R3D files, crazy) I'll compress em down and post when I'm back on high speed Internet so you can check it out. Dino and Tyler did a great job shooting (they even shot some green screen for the kids)

EPICs First Bar Mitzvah!! Sweet!! :-)

Oh yeah, and one of Matthews gifts was a Estes Rocket kit, which we shot slo mo 5k at 120fps. Awesome !! I'll Vimeo it up so can see how cool it is. So much fun that we can use the cameras for this kind of stuff, in addition to it shooting the biggest movies in the world. Thanks Dino for being such a good friend and helping make it happen. I'm in your debt.

Thanks for the info, Dino.
I'm pretty sure that this Bar Mitsva's video is the best quality ever made, and will be so for the next 5 years or so.

Congrats, Ted.

why didnt you shoot it at 300 fps???

Cause 5k is 3 more K than 2k :)

(and I needed the lens pretty wide or I wouldnt be able to follow the rocket)
