  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

REDVOLT + REDVOLT travel charger

I think Ketch is more anxious to get his REDvolts more than the EPICs themselves... :D

He he, almost Joseph, almost... ;)

You remember too well, I am sure, how much of a pain has been dragging around those huge bricks and huge charger in our American Epic Tour,

So yeah... really looking forward to the REDVOLTS... ;)

Remember the movie "Batteries Not Included"? Don't know, but for some reason, I remember it as being kinda cool... in a nerdy way.

Anyway...

One of my favorites!

Heh Heh heh. There is some very cool stuff you can do when you guys get your REDVOLTS.

For example.. you can hotswap between the back power port and the side handle. So if you are using a side handle battery and it gets low, and you don't want to power down or stop recording to swap batteries, you can plug in the AC adapter or RED BRICK into the back port and it will automatically switch over to that power source. without interuption.. the LCD will display the switch over, then you can change the dead REDVOLT in the side handle with a new one, and then unplug the power from the pack and keep running around.

This would have been SO useful with our R1s :) and their 90sec bootup time, but with the Epic boot time all this seems like a non-issue, though is a nice option. you guys are awesome! just keep 'em coming fast enough!

The next batch is due mid next month and it will be big.

Hey Greg,
What length screws are you using to go through the touchscreen AND the outrigger?

I'm not Greg, but I'm doing that and I'm 99% sure they are 7/8" or should be... 1" are too long. Crap, maybe they were 3/4", now I'll have to go look...

Hey Greg,
What length screws are you using to go through the touchscreen AND the outrigger?

I have a 1" bolt but the threads are only 15/16". I'm mounting on the front overhang of the VF/Brook top plate and it still doesnt come thru the bottom.

Not to derail, but for those wanting to complement the RED Volts with larger bricks, do we need to use the RED data-enabled batteries to get battery status info as we did on the R1? Or can one feed any 14.4v source and get a readout in the display? There are a lot of battery options out there.

Sweet. Thanks for opening that up RED.
