does this mean Epic support?

Hi Greg, unfortunately not for Storm 1.0 I'm afraid, but it is coming, I promise! Epic support will happen in Storm 1.1v1. This current release will help prevent users having to reflash their RED Rockets cards if switching between REDCineX and Storm.

thanks,
Dan

thats unfortunate.

Hi Greg, we are rolling towards the 1.1 Beta though. :smile5: If anyone reading this can provide us with Epic footage to test with internally, please get in touch.

many thanks,
Dan

For users who have purchased storm, what is the proper updating procedure?

Hi Dave,

To update to 1.0v3 download the new bits from the website http://www.thefoundry.co.uk/products/storm/product-downloads/

You can remove 1.0v2 and your previously created STORM projects will remain as will your previous license.

Install the new build, launch STORM. That should be it.

To install STORM on a 2nd machine, use the Activation Key you were emailed after purchasing and simply use that in the "activate license" field you see when you first Launch Storm on the new system.

Contact support@thefoundry.co.uk if you have any questions or issues.

Thanks,
Paul

I would be happy to supply EPIC footage; like Greg, I'm also waiting on EPIC support, and would love to help you guys get that out. So count on me, veugene at gmail dot com

Hi Craig,

Have replied to your question in the other thread.

Nope, still doing it... And not just 99%.

Hi Ben,

Sorry to hear you are experiencing this problem.

Would you be able to send us your footage and project files so we can test? Please email support@thefoundry.co.uk and we'll set up an account on our ftp so you can transfer your footage.

Kind regards,
Storm Support

Can't send you footage as it's a feature in progress. REDCine has had no issues exporting so I'm sticking w/what's working as turn around time is critical. We wrap production in 3 weeks; so hopefully when the dailies pressure is off, I can give Storm another shot. Don't get me wrong, I really like the product, find it easy and fun to use and have no regret having purchased it. I'm currently cutting scenes and have planned conforming a few to re-grade. I'm sure I'll have to export those so I'll fill you in on how that goes. Cheers.

I'm testing Storm out now for a feature and am using the trial version. It crashes on export to h.264 quicktime files. I'm even just trying a single clip in a bin and it crashes. I'm using the Rocket with 1.4.10.

The progress bar gets to 100%, but then it crashes leaving a 1/3rd size quicktime file.

Testing now without the Rocket. Without rocket, choked at 39%. just hung.

UPDATE:

No problems going to prores using rocket.
Testing h264 using single pass now.
UPDATE: Works with single pass h264.
Crashes on multi-pass.

Also, why does the check box to use the Rocket always get unchecked?

Hi Thomas,

Could you email support@thefoundry.co.uk with your settings. Also, would you be able to provide us with an R3D file to test with? We can set up an account on our ftp for the upload.

Kind regards,
Storm Support
