hello guys,

im having a problem with my red cine-x
i have both 454 / 470.
i have a redrocket with v. 1.4.10 driver.
when i launch red cine-x i noticed that the menus are blank...

refer to my attachments.

after quiting the cine-x theres a crash report generated.
"red cine-x quit unexpectedly"
what seems to be the problem?
anyone experienced this?
it was just sudden. a few weeks before, ive got no problem with both the cine-x 454 and redrocket.

please check the attachments.

thanks.

Hi all.
I have RedCine build 454. I think i had the same problem. When I select Source dir and clip it looks ok. Then I put clip to bin - ok again (it show me preview pictures of my R3D-clips). Then I do "Open in Player" and in player I see black screen. Then I try to close RedCine and it crashes with error report "REDCINE-X quit unexpectedly".
I can't resolve the problem, but I found some funny action :-) If I replace file REDCINE-X_build_454.app with a new one (from ZIP-archive) and run RedCine - everything is ok, but just one time :-(

p.s. Sorry for my English.

Same exact problem!

Same exact problem!

I'm working a music video with an Epic (build 1.6.12) and when using my RED ROCKET card with the latest firmware and REDCINE-X 470 I can't get playback to work properly. We're shooting 5K anamorphic, and every time I bring a clip into the viewer the software freezes up. I first get a black screen, but soon after REDCINE-X stops working all together. Also, I'm unable to re-open the software without restarting my system. I just reinstalled the latest drivers and firmware, but still experiencing the problem. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

Well, this is interesting. I was using three clips camera had shot the day before during prep, just to verify the workflow was working. This is when I ran into the problems listed above. However, since I've started working with what we're actually shooting today (a music video) everything works just fine. I have none of the problems I suffered with the test clips from prep. I thought for sure I was in real trouble, it's nice when these happy discoveries happen. My only thought is the clips that were shot at prep were really short, only a couple seconds in length each. Where as the music video clips are all 4 to 5 minutes in length. I'm curious if there's a bug with EPIC and REDCINE-X where really short clips crash the software. Purely a guess.

What Mac OS version are you running? I have one machine that we upgraded to OS 10.6.8 and I can't get RedCine to start up. It builds the user interface, and then quits. The other machines that are running OS 10.6.7 with the same software version. Red Rocket version 1.4.10. RedCine-X 470. We reinstalled the OS 10.6.8. We reset the PRAM, we ran a hardware test and it found no problems. We just noticed 4.8.7 as a download so we're going to try that now.
