Shooting 23.98 in Europe

Hey guys, I have an upcoming shoot in France. I have never shot overseas so it has spurred some questions to make sure I have everything ready. I will be using my RED shooting at 23.98. We will be using hmi's, tungsten, kino's from France hooked up on their power. Will I have any flicker issues shooting this frame rate? Will I have to adjust shutter from 180 to be safe?

Generally people shoot at 25 in Europe. If everything is flicker free you will be fine.

You are going to want to change your shutter speed to 1/50th. That's 172.8 in degrees. That will keep you safe with practical (flouros, etc)

Stephen, yes I know people shoot at 25 since it is the standard in Europe, but this is going to be used back in the states and needs to be compatible for us here.

Yes, thats the standard for 50hz lighting you'll be fine ;-)
