Pre-roll/Loop record. For those who don't know what it is, the camera constantly records and only actually commits the image to the recording media once you hit the button. Useful for capturing unexpected events. I imagine this would not add much to the cost of the camera since it could be a firmware only feature.

Image Flip built-in (for 35mm lens adapters)

Macros. (So you could set things up like your own bracketing schemes, time lapse, etc.)

Native Adobe CinemaDNG support? I realize CinemaDNG is totally nascent at this point. But native support would be really cool. At the very least Red should get in on CinemaDNG development so they can have some pull in the consortium. Maybe CinemaDNG could just be Redcode!

This is called "pre-roll". It is indeed a useful feature, but only if you can trigger the record with complete audio and video silence.

Since one of Scarlet's announced features is WiFi control, I'm guessing that shouldn't be a problem.

Judging from the fact that the design has what appear to be 4 user-definable buttons on the back, it looks like they're thinking in this direction, which is encouraging.

And I also agree that pre-roll would be an excellent feature. That's gold for doc shooting (not to mention a bazillion other potential situations).
