Is anyone using any other Brands of batteries for the RED? If so, which ones and how good (or not) good do they work?

We switched over to IDX batteries some time ago and they work fantastically.

The endura 10s and stackable so you can put two units on at once, and kinda hotswap in a pinch.

Only issue I had with the RED bricks was that I found they wouldnt lock to a plate as well as other brands.

I just got the new Blueshape 210...hopping will work great on Red One and Epic. Using the rouge simultaneous charger with the Red bricks for a while with no problem.

these are great...

i really like their chargers and batteries too. also no obnoxious logos very nice slim design only complain is they don't latch on as easy like most V-Lock Batteries but not a huge issue, my guess is the track design and the type of plastic it's enclosed in?

The RED batteries would not work for us since they are class 9 dangerous goods, and can not be legally taken on most aircraft.

We got the Switronix XP-L95RED batteries and the XDC2LS charger and have been very happy with their performance.

The batteries last approx. 1 hour, the charger has a 4 pin DC connector so it can also be used as a power supply.

Globalmediapro has RED compatible V-Mount Batteries at an excellent price point.
I have 4 of them plus the 4 Batteries Parallel Charger.
Couldn't be happier.

Hey Peter,
Can we charge these batteries on RED charge?

I'm pretty happy with the global media pro Red compatible batts. Haven't used them in any extreme conditions yet but so far seem fine.

I don't know if the Globalmedia-Pro batteries can be charged with the RED charger, because I had V-mount batteries and chargers long before there was RED.
I then invested in GMP RED V-Mount batteries and chargers and they work great. The RED batteries are a little underpowered for the price imho. Unless of course you buy the 6-pack.

Right now I have 8 190Wh batteries and two chargers. Thats 1520 Watt in a bag :-)
That will give me 2 straight shooting days on the RED. Or one day plus LED lighting.

Peter

Also, Globalmedia Pro gives you an 8-10% discount per battery once you cross the $1000 threshold on batteries purchased from them. So the prices are already pretty good, add in the customer loyalty discount and the price is really great.
