I am thinking of buying a Sager NP9262 quad core portable workstation with Nvidia GeForce 8800M GTX Graphics with 512MB DDR3 Video Memory

Can anyone advise me if this card is likely to work well with redcine ?

Also what would be the advantage of going for a Dual version of this card in SLI mode ?

Thanks

Geoff

I didnt test the 8800M GTX yet, but its for sure the best mobile graphic solution available. -If- recine doesnt bug out on it, it should also be the fastest.

SLI isnt used by redcine and scratch and many other tools yet, so as of now, it would be underutilized.

I suppose it will become pretty commonplace, especially as more and more graphic cards with several gpus are becoming usual standard products (as Nividia 9800GX2 or AMDs ATI HD3870 X2). Many Image processing functions can use parallel computing in an excellent way, and be it simply two frames at once for stereoscopic with the doubled GPU-power compared to a regular single-GPU card.

If you do run tests on the 8800M GTX please let us know - we are considering this little monster for our on set workstations.
