Need it for next wednesday, June 1st. Pickup will be Tuesday night, returned Wednesday night late, or Thursday morning.

Located in NYC. Please PM. Thank you.

It's worth buying one - $250? You don't need the base station.

It reads other cards too (i.e. Ki Pro Mini or whatever Timur is using on that f3 job)

fastest way I've seen to get any cf card into a computer, hotswappable, and definitely better than the sonnet qio.

@ DAN what makes it better than Qio ? can it read multiple cards at once ? what are the transfer speeds ?

Sorry to hijack the thread here tom...

hey Jeff, what's up man? I've found it to be more stable and reliable than a Qio. It's self-contained, and has esata as well as firewire connections. It's just proved to be worth its weight in gold. I used to use a calumet and a lexar reader until those both started to act up. Red Reader is faster and more stable than both... at first I was like $250 for a damn card reader? that's nuts...then I used it for a couple jobs and said, hey this thing rocks.

Anybody have one for immediate rental? Kind of in a bind here, and rentals houses have them all packed out with RED's. I tried buying it already, but ordered it last friday and couldn't make the fedex cut off, with the holiday, the overnight wouldn't get here till tomorrow. The shoot is tomorrow, so if anybody can help me out, I'd really appreciate it.

If your in a pinch go with a Lexar FW800. Cost is very reasonable and I've used 2 of them for close to 3 years now without a hiccup. I have literally offloaded thousands of cards through them. Not to say that the Red CF reader is not worth it (esata!!) but the Lexars are going to be fine.

that's what i'm doing, i own one, but obviously need more to switch out with when they heat up badly. renting them since Lexar stopped making them, impossible to buy these days. probably gonna get a qio or redstation down the line. the red station cf reader is hands down the best cf reader ever. never over heats, super stable, rock solid offloads. good to have for any occasion. seeing how fast it offloads on the fw800 alone compared to the lexar is light years better.
