Dear all,
I'm about purchasing a Zaxcom wireless system, but I need more information for the mike. I am considering the following mikes:
Sennheiser MKE-2, Shure WL50, Sanken COS11D or Countryman B6
Anyone has any experience about either one of them? Or any better suggestion, please? I mostly use the wireless system for documentary films.
Thanks in advance.
King

never worked with shure , but the mke is the most natural between all of them, the sanken is most versatile , the b-6 its you best friend for out side the clothes mounting and the worst enemy if you use it in wind conditions.
i will say buy 2 , differed purpose mics and you will be glad you have one spar e for back up as its almost impossible to rewire lemo 3 if you don't know how to do it when the actor will rip your mic :-)

Thanks for your advices, Oleg.

I use a Neuman for a shot gun and for a lav I use Tram. The Tram is by far the best and I have gone through a lot of them.
The Senn MKE series is certainly a good place to start.

This is a wide range in terms of prices and sound quality. A few years ago, Dan Brockett did a fairly exhaustive comparisons of 16 different lavs, and came up with some interesting results (at this link).

I use both the Tram TR50 and the Countryman B6 in my kit, and I think each has their pros and cons. The Countrymans are easier to hide, but the Trams are more versatile in terms of mounting options. In terms of sound quality, I think the Sanken COS-11 has quickly become the #1 choice for a lot of mixers these days. All of them work reasonably well.

Tram will not work with ZAXCOM without picking up am modulation hum .
and if you need to buy trams , don't bother , the OST 801 are 60% cheaper and makes the same

The tram is one of the worst mics as changes it sound characteristics with time if you place them directly on body , the sweat penetrates in and ruing the capsules .
