  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Howdy -
I havent had any luck finding this on the forums or in the manual - Is there a way to preview your burn in (timecode/ clip name etc.) before you export? I know you can modify size/postion and it would be sweet to just see a still frame of what it would look like before I actually transcode something. Im using RCX 454. Any help would be appreciated even if its "NO" haha. Thanks!

Just start a transcode, let it go till it gets to about 3%, hit cancel, then open the transcode

That's your "preview"

Yep right now you pretty much have to do what Joe suggests. But this feature is planned for the future.

Thanks guys! Not really too much of a hassle, just wanted to make sure I wasn't wasting time!

In the RCX preferences, there's a Preset drop down in the Snapshot category. Set that to "Use current export preset". Then when you hit the snapshot button on the Viewer, you'll get a still (or a one-frame video, depending on the current preset) of the current frame with burn-in, watermark, etc. on the still. That's probably the fastest way to preview at the moment.
