  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

sooo... epic x?

any news? still happening?

Getting queasy holding cash as well? If Scarlet isn't released shortly after or around QE3 or whatever they're gonna call it, I'm buying physical Silver instead of Scarlet for now : (

I 'reallocated' my scarlet pot of cash into a 66 mustang. Won't earn me anything, but then you can't cruise around in silver...

They say a watched pot never boils- I figured it was easier on my mind to think of something else for a while.

am i wrong?
there is not one red epic x delivered yet?
what will be a realistic date of delivery for
epic x stage II in your eyes?

Chris, you have been in cryo for five years, nine months and twenty two days. No Epic X yet and no realistic delivery dates. If you feel nausea, please use the sackprovided for your convenience.

Patience guys! When ready, the day will come and nobody will remember these painful waiting times. I will be sending my payment to Red in a week o two just to be ready when the final day arrives.

I second that. I will definitely remember the long painful wait.

And by the way - what is it with all you guys telling everybody to be patient ?
Is this like a cult or something ? Do I need to jump on a couch somewhere ?

I am a customer of Red. I love my camera. And I reserve my right to be
impatient and inquisitive about a camera that has been announced and delayed for a while.

It's also always calm before they announce big delays. We'll see.

Really...

1. RED is allways late on actual delivery vs proposed delivery. So much that other manufacturers actually get time to release interesting cameras in the meantime. Which is... Good for competition.

2. RED has so far been 10 years early to the stage, and the rest have had to play catchup. Before RED I was thinking of funding a 2/3" Varicam package. Graeme probably remember s his fondness for that camera. Jarred had an obvious assosiation with Pana through DVXuser. And then someone came a long and said "Think bigger" and "Yup, I have the cash".

3. he change of policy (which means the M which everyone may be eligble to buy but most likely will be given to you in numbers more simply if you are Peter jackson) is great news for marketpenetration. Getting an opportunity like that and actually being practically capable of delivering cameras in good numbers DESPITE the Japan situation will eventually be good news for all of us.

4. Yes it is iritating.

6. Many others are also on hold due to this. It extra-hurts RED because they were already delayed a lot, but after seeing the images, I must say that I am really happy for the fact that the Epic is not an R1MX with a smaller footprint.

Images speaks more than numbers.
That is also true for Epic.

Chill.
Think positive thoughts!

Cheers!
It's gonna be THAT good, it seems.

(For a year now the deliveryrate of any media except CF has been hurting RED much more than the development of the Epic.

I want to know what point #5 is.

Ah... The secret #5.
If you see the following text, consider yourself well within a magical mystery-circle...

Take a deep breath. Shoot some nice images.
Wow. Gee!
You are a photographer! (Hopefully...)
Evolve artistically and technically. There is no reason not too

Cheers

(Who cannot figure out why that part of my post was removed...)

:-))

LOL

I really love how "But mine is only 4k" all of a sudden has become a limiting factor for artistic expression.

The numbers alone do not tell the full story anyway.
But the Epic seems like the current slam-dunk.

from the demo I saw, skintones seemed to be what we will all be dying for (But aren't we anyway...)
