Has anyone read any reviews of the new Zeiss 35 1.4?

But this is of course an earlier model Zeiss that will have some difference in specs.

I think I'm a buy it. I have the 85 1.4. I think I'll get the 35 and the 50 and call it my low light backup set for the Panchros.

I'm planning on getting 2 of the Zeiss ZF 35mm f1.4s. I already love my set of Zeiss ZFs I have right now. The construction of the Zeiss lenses are awesome and the fact that they have no auto focus and manual iris settings is what sells them for me.

I have the older Zeiss C/Y mount 35 1.4 and it is one of my favorite lenses.
If the new version is anything like the older version it should be a winner.

Do the lenses barrel out when focusing on the Zeiss ZE or ZF lenses?

No, they do not barrel out and there's no moving front element.

Especially the Zeiss ZF (or ZE) 35mm 1.4 is a fantastic lens, not only the build quality is great but it also performs very well. Most know this but just to mention it, the ZF (as other Nikon lenses) focusses in the opposite direction than cinema lenses (or Canon lenses or the Zeiss ZE version) do.
