Hi guys, I have a problem and i want to see what you guys think. My EVF is producing an image that shows a heavy "static" like image that is overlaid onto the regular evf view. It isn't permanent, and nothing seems to fix it or cause it. its just happening and it stays that way for several hours, then suddenly is fine again. I have tried plugging and unplugging, multiple firmwares, and boot cycles, and can't reproduce it or fix it with any amount of certainty. Anyone else have this problem?

This happens when they get cold, and sometimes for no reason. If it's happening frequently might be worthwhile getting it repaired (however be warned the parts for the 'old' EVF are NOT CHEAP...)

New EVF has a built in heater :)

Yes. I know about the cold freeze up, been shooting in -40. problem is it has never happened till now. and its finally summer up here. Definitely the EVF as i did a binary swap with another camera to narrow it down. cables fine, camera is fine(this is what i feared most.)

So it's fine when the EVF is inside in the warm?

no. it is not fine in any temperature at the moment. This is different than the cold temp freeze up
