What's the difference between "Quicktime" and "Quicktime (exp)" in the Redcine export file format menu?

Hi Bryan,

They are exactly the same except in the way they write to disk. The "Quicktime (Exp)" option is there currently for testing purposes. If you are transcoding to any external drives over AFP then the option will allow you to get around the 2GB file size limit.

Cheers,
David

good to know...

the "exp" was a bit misleading in my opinion...
I first thought it stands for "export" and not for "experiemental" (and I doubt I was alone).

thanks for making it clear :)

Hi Peter,

Good point -- I can see about changing that to something more meaningful in the next release.

its only a question how one can interpret it...
when it comes to prefixes or short terms -> there's just a lot of them... in this case;

exp-ort
exp-ert (mode)
exp-ress (mode)
exp-erienced (mode)
...

you got the point...
of corse with the hint to "experiment(al)" it is all clear now - but in advance -> not.
