Anyone seen this issue in Color Video Preview?

Since upgrading to Snow Leopard and re-installing FCP Studio 3, I've had my video preview screen garbled. I've attached a screenshot to illustrate. I'm using a MacPro 8core with a stock NVIDIA GeForce GT 120. I also have a Kona LHe card installed (with the most current driver as of today-8.1.1).

Any thoughts on what causes this? Every project looks this way, but opened on another system they look fine. Seems to be linked to my system configuration.
Thanks.

Never seen that before.

Now, you mention the preview Window is messed up? What about the video output via the Kona?

I suggest trying several things:

Removing the Kona Card and drivers - if this fixes it, then try reinstalling Kona. If that breaks it again, you have a Kona issue.

Re-Reinstalling FCS 3

Reinstalling Quicktime 7. (You may have to go into the "optional installs" part of the Snow Leopard installation DVD to get QT7 - I don't recall if it shipped with FCS3, but even if it did use the one from the Snow Leopard DVD.)

As you can see these are all "cure all" solutions, I've got nothing specific. Sorry.

I can say that Snow Leopard and FCS2 & FCS3 live comfortably on my 2010 MacPro 8 core. I never had any issues with Snow Leopard.

I had the same problem, though my display was showing only red, so you are obviously steps ahead.

After doing some reading in Apple Discussions I tried disconnecting my second monitor - I have an Apple monitor as my main, and an HDMI TV mostly just to hold Final Cut's browser. After I disconnected the HDTV (and my broadcast monitor) the problem has gone away. Since I did this only a half-hour ago I have not had time to experiment and find out what CAN work.

I am not using a video out card other than Red Rocket (and it doesn't output video for Color - yet), so no Kona or DeckLink or anything.

So, if you have any kind of second monitor attached, I suggest disconnecting and restarting as a first step.

I found a solution, although I'm not exactly sure what the issue is. After reading Nelson's post, I experimented with disconnecting my second monitor, which is an HPw2408. The problem went away. This monitor was connected as my 2nd monitor and using a DVI-HDMI cable. So, I switched it with my "main" monitor, switched things up in the Display preference pane and it seems to be happy now. This problem appeared a while back when I installed Snow Leapord on my machine.
