Fire wire 800 power

I understood it is possible to remove the power from the fw 800 cable by taking out one of the contacts,
Anybody knows which one ??

Someone described this in a thread about failure on the red drive's 800 port. I can not find this discussion back on reduser, anyone ?

I had a problem last year with a powered FW800 cable shorting out a drive. I use a power isolator now, but the last posted on that thread details a way of breaking off the power pins.
