Okay, so I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this kind of thing, I've attached a screen grab.

Don't know how to verbablly describe it well, but with both Rocket enabled decoding and OS decoding of footage, I get random decode errors when viewing/scrubbing playback In RCX. This has happened in various versions, 262, 340, 356, and 449 on my MacPro system, with footage from different cameras, both CF and Drive originated. Only commonality other than my system is that I've only noticed in on 4k 16:9 footage @ 23.98.

Basically as you can see a given frame will decode with the frame duplicated and vertically 'squished' multiple times across the top of the displayed frame. This happens in Full Screen preview as well, and the example is @ 1/8 res but it happens at every resolution selection. The footage I've dealt with has all been intended for 2.40 release so it's not gotten into the 'picture' area yet but don't know how/why it's happening, or if it's diagnosable at all. (maybe just one of those weird things that happens with computers?)

Any feedback?

Hi Chris,

We've seen this issue before. Can you send a verbose log file and system profile to redcinex at red dot com please?

Thanks,
David

I've seen that with my footage but only when scrubbing through with less than full resolution. When I change the resolution to full I get the completed frame.

Chris,

Are you using a Radeon video card of some form? It turns out that on some ATI cards uploading a texture of at least a certain minimum size and a certain pixel format results in corruption. They have fixed the issue in the latest Catalyst driver release -- 11.3. We were able to reproduce that issue here on a Radeon HD 4800. You'll know if you are having this issue if you can only get some corruption when switching to a full frame mode in the viewer.

Another issue we are still trying to diagnose, and looks more similar to the pictures you posted above, is with an NVIDIA Quadro card. I'll update this post when we learn more.

David
