In trying to format a 128 SSD card, the R1 MX says that an SSD card is "too slow" and can only record at 2k. Was working on R1 before, but small chance it was used on an epic. Any thoughts? Thanks

strange theese ssds are made to capture 5k data,i can't really understand, are you sure you have the right "red" ssds....

The problem is with the ssd card been formated on Epic...Try to format the card on Red One with the lower quality settings. That should work.
Happened to me with the CF cards.
Hope this can help.

Yeah, red SSD cards. We formatted it on the R1 at 2k 2:1 and it worked, but then wouldn't format at 4k after that. Now trying to format it with a computer to see if we can reset it I guess. Any other ideas welcome. Thanks!

This shouldn't be the problem...yet.
I heard that if you format a SSD drive/card many times it will get slow. And that's why you can see how fast the SxS-cards are formatted on a Alexa camera.
It shoudn't be the problem yet I think but in the future, this will be a problem.

I ran into this with brand new CF cards...although I have the SSD side module I have no media to try.

Anyway, try power cycling the camera, and then reformat. This seemed to solve the issue with the Red CF Media.

Please email me at deanan at red dot com
with the camera log file. Thanks.

No problems so far -I formatted all five of my 64GB SSD's and they show up fine without any issue...will do some record tests and see what offloads speeds are like with the 1.8 Redmag SSD & Red Station via esata.

Thanks Red, especially Matt Klamm for helping expedite! Ya keep us smilin'!

Simply needed to upgrade camera firmware to newest release 30.7. Works fine now. Thanks Red for the quick response.
