I've tried Builds 348, 351, 356 and 416ER and the procedure described in the Operation Guide for manually syncing external audio files does not work. Even if I manage to sync an external audio track to a file, moving the playhead on the video window or simply reopening the R3D will knock the file out of sync again. The Attach Audio command will also sometimes assign the last file in the audio directory rather than the specific file I've selected.

Anybody else experiencing these problems?

That's fantastic news.

One other thing, and I'm not sure if this has been fixed yet, is that when I manually sync, setting the slate point in the viewer and then in the audio tool, the track will play in-sync from start to finish if I start the clip with the playhead placed right at the beginning of the clip. But then, for longer clips, if I want to skip ahead and listen to audio half way, it goes out of sync. The only way I'm able to review clips with synchronized audio is if I watch them all the way through from start to finish, which is not at all practical when the clips themselves are long and the parts that need to be checked are minutes into the file.

This is very odd, the manual syncing process described in the Operation Guide works and then the audio shown in the audio tool remains in sync, but the audio coming out of the speakers is way, way out of sync. Any suggestions on why this might be?

Emyr,

Can you shoot me an email at redcinex at red dot com? Include what version of RCX you are using, details about your system and a log file with verbose logging turned on. Get the log to capture some audio playback.

Thanks,
David
