I've searched Reduser and cannot find an appropriate thread for this questions, so if it's already out there, my apologies.

I've edited a sequence in Premiere CS5 with the following formats: 4K & 2K R3Ds + Native H.264 files from 5DII

So now I'd like to take it all into Color for grading without having to transcode everything (ok, I know I'll need to convert the h264 files, but want to stick with R3Ds)

I've exported an XML from Premiere, but it cannot reconnect the R3Ds (quicktimes). I even went ahead and transcoded the R3Ds to ProRes, but I cannot reconnect to those either.

Any suggestions on workflow? Possible?

I would suggest bouncing the XML through Clipfinder. Something like this:

-XML *OUT* from Premiere
-XML *IN* to FCP
-XML *OUT* from FCP (A new XML)
-Conform the FCP XML via Clipfinder
-XML (The conformed one from Clipfinder) *IN* to FCP

The issue at hand is that Premiere is referencing the R3D files in the XML. FCP can't deal with R3Ds directly, so you need to conform to the Camera Proxies, which you'll then send on to Color. Convoluted? Yep.
