Just got the script for a short I'm shooting in May. There's a scene where the lead is wearing a glow in the dark shirt. She switches the room lights off and the shirt is supposed to have a really strong glow.

Thoughts on shooting this?

Thanks!

Make sure the shirt is of a unique colour and lift in post. In other words, say a lime green shirt, hit with a yellow/green light that exposes below the room lighting. When the lights go off, change grade to bring up that colour (and add a little blur for the glow). Dunno if it would work but that's what I'd try.

Just wash the shirt in biological washing powder, and illuminate with UV blacklight when the lights go out!

Make her drink 50 glow sticks.

shouldn't be too hard at all, i've seen it done fairly easily even on a slower lens with glow stick liquid, and UV with white. a good trick might be doing a iris pull to go wide open to gain the light you need when the lights flick off. will take some practice, but if you can manage to light the entry at a decent level and pull wide open the second the light flicks off, the UV route, and some good color grading to key frame the lum increase will do you solid.

also should be practical and easy enough for you to test.
