I was banned yesterday

I did put my real name to change in the thread, but never been changed. I couldn't do either, all of the sudden i i have been banned... i have to start all over again that means lots of privileges are gone out to window. Now i can't even edit my profile, i have to wait some time and i don't know how long. Its not fare.

I have a respectful question. I'm a few hundred posts into a long thread and have noticed half a dozen banned posters. I'm a pussycat and don't ever expect to get on the wrong side of anyone. I looked for a FAQ or something to understand the rules but have missed it. What gets you banned and where are the rules please?

We don't really ban people that often, usually it is for spamming (instant ban), personal attacks (limited or permanent bans), repeated/nasty trolling, not having a real name as user name (older members get a reminder, newer members are getting banned instantly and can re-register with their real name), repeated offenders. Spreading fud or plain lies will also lead to a holiday.

The Marketplace has a special rule, where one should only post when interested in the item/service for sale. Repeated thread crapping will also lead to a temporary ban.

But basically, if you behave like you would at a party you were invited to, you will be fine.
