As NAB time nears, I get a lot of press requests for images of the cameras. would love to show off some shots of the EPIC M group shooting all over the world with their Rigs... if you want to post the low rez ones here at this thread, and email me the high rez ones (big jpgs are fine) to ted@red.com

I'll do my best to get you all into the various press coverage at NAB (anything I can do to not have me holding the RED for the press pix is a good thing, that's the last resort backup plan if no one else sends me any good shots :-)

Have a ton of images of us shooting Epic M8 Ted, so I guess best is to have them sent to you in very small rez,
so you can choose the ones you might like to have high rez ;)

Are pics like this that oyu are looking for?

Pics from Sam Druckerman and Matt Uhry - SO MUCH FUN!

In a few days once the euphoria wears off, I will try to try to look less stupidly happy and more like a filmmaker. Matt looks cool though with his "I am a pilot" sunglasses.

How about a Photoshop composite of me shooting with an EPIC I don't yet have?

I could place myself in a really exotic location. :)

These shots are great Ketch and Bruce! I especially like the ones of the Epic on the shoulder rig on the ground at the airport and the shot of Steve (if that is Steve) in the blue jacket with the EPIC in the snow with the long white still telephoto lens on it - email me those and I'll get it into the press mill ASAP.

Seems the best shots for press are Medium to MCU shots of peoples faces with the EPICs in action (wide shots are fun for us to see, but harder for press to use, they need pretty close shots to see the gear working) and EPIC CUs in various configurations with various lenses.

Post what you've got that you think are fun to see here, and send over ones to my email that you think are the best to be seen in articles, blogs, etc... you guys know what they usually go for - less snapshot stuff and more artsy fun angles of people really working with the gear, pretty close up.

Thanks to all that send shots over... much appreciated.

I'm already seeing here a new EPIC montage of photos for NAB to show off in presentations, etc. - anyone up for that this year (hint hint to my friend Corrado in Italy that always does a great job with that kind of stuff) - anyone else want to throw their hat in the ring to take that on if he's too busy working on projects right now?

+ Ted

here are some close ups...sadly she is missing her RedMote :(

Very beautifull to see...congrats guys!!
Nice work.
Hats off.

Ted, when I get home in a couple days I'll have some good ones for you :)

Ted, sorry to deviate a bit from the topic but...

Bruce, what model and brand is the rig being used on the picture of the Epic on the ground at the airfield? The grips look very comfortable and the shoulder pad looks supportive yet soft.

Would be great to see a framegrab from a shot that used the duclos 11-16, would like to see what the coverage is like as mine didnt fit on the epic!

This thread is all about pouring salt into our wounds, isn't it?

:)

I think it is... but I am enjoying it..

btw.. Steve, is that a Raiders hat you are wearing? If so we may have to become best friends.

That's Matt Uhry's custom-made rig. It is very comfortable indeed - although the grips are actually custom-molded to his hands! Everyone who sees it asks him if they can have one (and how many gold bars will it cost?).

They are asking the wrong question - it should be "how many gold bars should I give you to shoot my commercial?"

But yes - after shooting with RED ONE it is impossible not to have a huge smile on your face when you feel how light and compact EPIC is. That alone plus the fantastic menu system equals a huge step forward in shooting pleasure.

Sorry, will shut up now. Mods feel free to delete this post if you want to keep the thread images-only.

He he...it really looks like a Raiders hat, but it is actually an O'Neill hat. They're a surf industry manufacturer - wetsuits, clothes, etc. The face in the middle of logo shield on the hat is Jack O'Neill, founder of the company. He has been without an eye since the '60's and has always worn a black pirate patch over his bad eye. You're not the first one to mistake that hat for a Raiders hat though :)

But I do have an NFL and Raiders history - in 1987 when the Raiders were still based at the L.A. Coliseum, I shot the entire season of Raider's home games. I also shot the Pro Bowl in Honolulu a few times in the '90's, shot the 1988 Super Bowl in San Diego (Redskins vs. Broncos), and produced/directed behind the scenes TV special during Super Bowl week at Super Bowl XXXIX in Jacksonville (Patriots vs. Eagles).

I definitely like the Raiders - but I also like a few other teams too.

Very diplomatic of you.. ;)

Whole lot of Epic loving going on in those photos. Enough smiling faces to fill a burger franchise. I will be following soon and my smile will be just as big.

Happy shooting my friends.

Lol like was said.. very diplomatic ;) Raiders are officially my favorite, but I like the New York teams as well..

I know the O'Neil brand well, used to skim board myself back when my family still had our summer home before my parents decided it wasn't worth it any more. Don't get to do that much any more..

All pictures show happy and smiling people, why?
I wonder,
is it some kind of an Epic side effect?

Its got to be a side effect of the Epic.. I smile just looking at the pictures!

Don't know if you'd like some camera prep shots as well.

We were thrilled to have prepping yesterday the new David Nutter directed CBS Television pilot, "The Doctor", which started shooting today by DP Rob Sweeney; as well as the Joe Kosinski directed BMW spot, "Refuel", shot by DP Alwin H. Kuchler, both of which are shot on Keslow's new EPIC-M™'s.
