  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

That would be the highlight protection or secondary track if you're shooting HDRx. I'm guessing you didn't shoot HDRx on these...

Anyway, shots look great!

The first shot in the video is glorious!

Holy * this camera is amazing!

Forgive me for the language Greg. Great work! Made me think of Graeme's kid's first steps being recorded on "only" 4k Mysterium, with full use of the new colorimetry of course. Now imagine when the third generation is released you look back and think these are "only" 5k M-X, though with the Mostro colorimetry. ;)

Thank you for posting it. I look forward to playing with RAW highlights in similar situations.

it was just me with an old 50mm standard speed...no follow focus (hence the soft shots), no mattebox, no nothing...all hand held. Did use a Bomb evf

It's amazing a camera with this capability can be used in this way. It just kinda makes me chuckle to think you can shoot 5k RAW @ 96fps with the same freedom of a dslr!

Really nice Greg, love the grading. It's amazing that you can shoot family stuff at home with the same camera the highest end hollywood productions are using. Truly great!

120fps 5k in your hand...its pretty sweet. Did I say I LOVE THIS CAMERA yet?

I added a few shots to the clip that were missing...when I have some time I'll play with the debayer settings and put a better grade on it. this was literally the first stuff I shot.

Fantastic shots!

Greg, can you talk about the controls on the side handle, and how you're using them? The red button's function is obvious, but what about the little switch near the top front of the side handle?

The little switch is labeled "M - S" presumably MOTION - STILL...its not currently enabled.
There are a set of four large user programmable buttons that can be assigned to just about anything you could dream of...although not all is enabled. I use them for 1:1, RAW, False Color, and White Balance.

Then there are a set of smaller pre-defined buttons which are currently assigned to Red Color and Eject Media...the last is not enabled yet.

There is also a compartment for a RedVOLT battery...once these ship we will have a very compact shooting machine....this is the single most important and exciting accessory coming.

Excellent Greg!!!

The best Epic clip shown here at the forum till now!!!

Really shows all good sides of the camera.

And now I would like to request some available and low light footage @ wide open if it's possible of course...!?

C'mon Greg I'm sure that you have some of Carl Zeiss Master Primes or...???!!!

Thanks Sanjin!!
Well, I would put my Leica Summilux C lenses on for you, but then you would go ape shit and shut the forum down :)

Although not low light, the shot of my daughter reading on the sofa was pretty dimly lit...and shot wide open. She was a couple stops under.

BTW- these were all shot with a 50mm and 85mm Zeiss standard speed mostly wide open and with available light...mainly because i'm an old man w/ a bad back and wanted the lightest rig possible.

I wish Sanjin...unfortunately they arent shipping yet.

Greg,

I know and also can still wait...actually set or two are already at Otto Nemenz LA but he was one of the investors in that Leica project...
