I believe REDCODE has changed ( or so ive read, not confirmed ) so you can no longer play back the camera Proxy files without having to render them ( at least I cant).

Unfortunately , all of the file organization and sound syncing was done with the Camera Proxy files by another editor using the Camera Proxy files.

The producer wants to look at all of the footage and I cant play it back without rendering. So, If i go back to the R3Ds, Load them up in RedCine X and make some new clips for the offline edit, is there a way that I can keep all of the work that was done organizing and syncing in FCP?

Im thinking I can keep the file names the same, I may just be able to swap out directories or something.

Sort of a Reverse Conform.

Anyone do this or know how I can save all of the previous work and link it back up to the new media I will create.

Thanks guys.

To be honest, this is the first I've heard of any changes to REDCODE vis a vis playback.

That said, you should be able to use Clipfinder to reconform to your rendered files. The conform tool doesn't care what format you're linking to.

Im sorry, I shouldnt have stated that as a fact, but on another thread here where a member was trying to get realtime play back without rendering for Proxy files, a few members here noted that REDCODE had changed so it was no longer possible.

I do have clipFinder, so ill give that a shot.

Thank you for the response.
