Hi,
I think there will be lot of first timers(as I am) at NAB2011 for obvious reasons specially from the RED community.
So if experienced visitors can put in their views, tips,do's and do not's I think it will be helpful.
Thanks
Harcharan

Although they have plenty of packages that get you into additional seminars and training sessions, if you only want to see the exhibits including Red, you can use one of infinite codes found online to get in for free.

Here is one: Lv0835

NAB also gets many low hotel rates that you can view after you register, Circus Circus, although Trashy is only about $35 a night if you are looking to go on the cheap.

Last year, Red had a separate event, "Red Day," which was fantastic but held off site. It was still packed. Now that they are returning to the NAB Show floor, I second what Jay said that it will be even more packed, but there won't be registration so it should be quicker to get in and out. Get there early to hear the "Surprise" though :)

Yes, you definitely have to research. I like Dave's idea of mapping it out. There are some free sessions that NAB puts on, but some of the booths also have great content right there on the floor you might find interesting. Last year I spent a lot of time at Adobe's Booth, Avid had some Editor's of Hollywood Blockbuster's talk, and there was a post production corner with some great educational talks including, many on Red. Ted came and talked and showed off the Epic there last year before Red Day. I believe FX Guide was one of the sponsors, as I got a cool Hat from them last year ;)

The RED booth always has a line, but it will be larger this year.. So I expect traffic to move along better.

Jay

Maybe they should have two lines... one for RED owners, one for the curious and wannabes?

yeah i second that, i will be in line to place an order for a comprehensive package. pretty definite about that as im travelling all the way from Australia just to do it and see Red specifically. so i don't class my self as curious or a wannabe - more like a future customer! begs the question though should i set up a customer account on the red website now in preperation fo NAB? Any feedback from current owners would be very welcome. maybe even the RED guys could advise on this one. thnx
