I bought this lens a long time ago when RED first came out and PL lenses were not so readily available.

I would sell it, but I don't feel right about it since the image shifts when you rack to infinity.

So, I thought- take it apart- what do you have to loose. Why not try to make one of those cool conversions- like the Nikon 24-70 T 2.8 zoom out of this. I already have the PL mount and a rehousing outer exterior. I'm certain the original 14mm Canon was a lot thinner. I know I would have to add a third ring, and lengthen it a bit, bit I feel as I have nothing to loose. What's another 2k to buy the new lens. Take it apart with meticulous detail, if I can't make it work on the PL housing from the converted canon then put the Nikon 24-70 back together and wait for the Epic.

What do you guys think? Is there another lense you would try to convert instead? I'm all ears.

Don't do it!!!
I've done more conversion than I want to remember It's beyond PITA every time.
Sell the lens and buy what you need, that's all......

Hi...I am a little confused...are you saying that you have a PL converted 14mm Canon and you want to take the canon guts out of the housing and put a nikon 24-70 in it?

If that is the case...which conversion is it? I have owned several of the Optex conversions and am somewhat familiar with Century's, but the one you have looks different that both of those. (maybe my memory is off).

If you decide to sell it, please let me know.

Thanks,

Larry
