After reading the opening page of comments, I watched this with a chip already on my shoulder. To be fair, I have not watched any of the other entries, nor probably will. It's a time thing. I have nothing to compare it to, so all I can do is empty the rage some RedUsers feel, and try for an objective opinion.
Um, it was okay. Entertaining? Kinda. Worthy of a win? Again, I have nothing to compare it to.
In the big picture, high-on-entertainment has smoked the high-on-story time and again in HW and other film industries. Take 'Transformers' for example: Crap story, average performances, and hugely entertaining (me excluded). I'll add Titanic to that list as well: Average performances, told-a-million-times story line, no real out-of-the-box use of FX. And it killed in the BO.
Crowd mentality rules.
