Completely new to the RED world here.

I've been editing a short film that was originally shot in 4K 2:1. The filmmakers decided to do pickups but this time they shot it at 4.5K.

I've been using REDCINE-X build 356 to export the original 4K 2:1 footage into FCP as 720p with 1/8th debayering @ 23.98.

What should I do about the new 4.5K footage? Should I crop it right away in REDCINE-X or do that kinda work in FCP? If the former is the case then can someone explain how to do it?? This program is quite confusing and convoluted.

Delivery is 1080p HDCAM and HDCAM-SR.

Thanks in advance!!

i would just edit as usual, and create a matte to match the 2:1 to match the aspect look, and reframe the shot accordingly to what dp/director wants.
