  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Ever use the Proaim / Cinecity / DV city steadicam??

I'm with Nick on this one. I recommend cutting out as much of the steadicam as you can, and only use it for what it was designed for -- running up steps in Philadelphia, running through hedge mazes in the snow, etc; and hiring an experienced (or even, inexperienced) op for it, even if you have to fly him to your production. Nothing offends my delicate sensibilities like roller-coaster dutch-angled turns, and frames that bob up and down like Jar-Jar Binks. It might wind up being cheaper than what you're gonna pay for the Proaim rig, and the footage will look 10 times better.

Check out Jeff Melanson. He's a great op; very professional. I hired him for a project a couple years ago and he was a pleasure to work with. http://www.jeffmelanson.net/

That is one nice reel. The shot of the two kids in the wagon is great, low mode is a bitch.
