Fun presentation and great people here in Dubai... was an interesting day yesterday.
a tremendous amount of work here going on with the REDs.

More details locking in now on the Australia part of the trip

We are scheduled to do a presentation that the ACS is arranging on March 1st in Sydney at the AFTRS film school in their Digital Cinema auditorium.

For those interested in attending, you can contact David Wakeley

There is also a plan for a day in Melbourne with our friends at LeMac, I'll post details when I have them.

Ted,

I am a little jealous of your travels. If you are going back through Paris, stay at my place.
Otherwise hurray back and have lunch with us on Spiderman.... Miss ya man

thanks Peter. I know you are having fun with your EPIC rigs on your little low budget action movie that John and you are lensing :) I can't wait to tell you about my day in Dubai today. (think chopper, 5k slowmo, and some other exotic bits) even for me and my crazy world of travels it was quite the day!) got some good bts footage i think, when i land again ill try and post some of what we were doing.

A nice boat on the Bosphorus awaits you in Istanbul my friend :)

Me too, already sent David an email about attending. Really looking forward to it!

Sorry for splitting your thread up there Ted:)

should have just posted a quote:(

Just was making this specific piece of info available in the relevant area for the folk of OZ... whom may have missed it.I'd not locked it down an therefore invited comments as expected ...

But looks like you got a free lunch out of it had mr Collister not seen it otherwise

Glad to hear you enjoyed it Ted, cant wait to see the footage from the chopper.

Already planning how we can top it to get the EPIC back over here!

Any chance you can swing by Canberra on your way to Melbourne from Sydney ? :)

Would be nice to see the Scarlet proto-type live here in the bush capital.

Thanks

Masoud

Will see you in Sydney for sure. Looking forward to it and catching up with old and new friends.

Fantastic night in Sydney with Ted and the ACS!

He started the presentation at the humble beginnings of Red and took us up to the present moment. Very open and upfront about everything and was happy to answer all our questions.

The Epic is as great as we had hoped. At ISO 3200 it's amazingly clean, and we had to get it to ISO 6400 before we felt we had pushed too far.

The Scarlet fixed lens is a dream! Actually got to hold one, fully functioning. Perfect weight, perfect size and the lens range is very impressive.

Ted was tireless for 3 1/2 hours and his dedication to quality, diplomacy and goodwill was inspiring.

Stage II cannot come fast enough for me. Having now been in front of the real thing I'm inspired all over again!

Here are some pics!
