That sounds wise...

When the R1 hit the streets, "obsolete" glass all of a sudden rised almost 10-fold in price.

The world is a bit better prepared these days, but we may see it somewhat again.

Add to that the surge of 3d productions needing 2 sets each...

Maybe so but for some reason I don't think that'll be the biggest problem. I think you might want to get in line for your recording media. There's already a back log for SSD's so I just went ahead and got in line so that I'll get mine before the cameras come out hopefully

I think you are going to see a huge upspike in Canon and Nikon glass when the Epic S ships. I plan on using my Canon L glass on the Epic S, and the RPPs on the Epic M. I should get my RPP's soon. Of course, I'll use the right lens for the job, which could be Stills glass for handheld with a remote follow focus, (redmote pro)

I agree with the recording media thing, as well as accessories. I am hopeful by the time the epic S ships, RED will be caught up and ahead with SSDs.

As with ANYTHING this time of year, wait for NAB. Who knows what will happen there. Some people may actually announce things that are ready for purchase.
