Looking for some sort of sand/dust protection for 2 Red cameras. Anyone have experience with these dustcovers or have alternate suggestions:

Camera Essentials RED One Desert Dust and Raincover

Also, anyone that's shot in Afghanistan, if you have any "must have/must do" tips, please share your wisdom if you please.

Cheers,
Dale

depends where you are going. i can say for helmand province day to night temperature can vary by 40 degrees. in some areas the sand is as fine as baby powder, we commonly refereed to it as moon dust. so be prepared for it getting into everything, and i mean everything. so unless its water tight the entire time you're there sand is getting in. there were weeks on end when i couldnt clean my camera. maybe a vacuum would've help, cause most of the time when i used a simple blower it would blow sand away and more sand would fall right in. Lots of high wind, so make sure its heavy or well secured.

Scott M has actually taken the Red to Afghan, he would definitely be the guy to ask:)
