Hi all,

I'm in dire need of a camera for a shoot next week and as much as I would love to be shooting it on Epic, as we all know it's not quite here yet. I need something small and very portable and the R1 won't do, so I'm looking for a 5D MK II. I have plenty of glass and don't need any accessories; just the body and some batteries.

I don't have money to offer at the moment, however I am an Epic Stage-II reservation holder with RED #79, which means I'm very close to the front of the queue when these babies start rolling off the conveyor belt. If anyone would like to trade quality, firsthand time with the Epic for time with their 5D, it would be greatly appreciated. I'm in the LA area. Thanks.

Hey man, Im here in LA - and while I don't own a 5D2, I recently got a panasonic gh2 for my wife to practice shooting with.

This thing is _sick_ compared to a 5d2...it's no epic, but it is sick.

Manual audio control, less rolling shutter, almost zero moire, 1:1 magnification recording mode @1080, natural skin tones.

Happy to loan it to you to try out. Two batteries, charger, 4x16gb cards, nikon mount, minolta md mount. Can also hook you up with shoulder rigs and such. - oh, and a wireless hd monitoring setup that I've been putting together in my spare time.

Let me know - the canon sucks for shooting motion work (IMO)

I am new to the forum and live in west LA.

I have a Canon 5D2 that I can lend out next week, what I really need in return is a hands-on RED crash course. I am mainly a wedding photographer www.rustinmichael.com but was the DP on a feature film, "Absentia" ,over the summer using the 5D2 which has been getting rave reviews www.absentiamovie.com.

Thanks

Just so there's no confusion, I am not looking to trade my Epic itself for a 5D. That would be rather silly. :) I am simply looking for time with a 5D in return for time with the Epic when it arrives. A fair trade, I think.

Thank you to those who have responded; we have a great community here.

try to get a SI2K for your shooting, eery rental house would make that deal.
maybe 4weeks against 6 epic weeks.
si2k shoots 2k on ssd and is as small as an epic, but it needs a backpack full of computer shit for the processing.
it shoots in cineform.
