Over at aint it ccool news they posted some report about the waichowski's meeting with keanu to tell him they had an idea for the matrix 4 & 5 and told him it would be as revolutionary as the first one. I think this would ve a perfect project for the epic :) bill pope is an awesome cinematographer and if it could be as good as they say, id love to see that. Could u imagine bullet time 3d on the epic ? :)

i guess they would take the unproduced script where the surprise is that actually neo, morpheus, trinity etc are computer programs....

Meh.... Now that I can't un-see Reloaded and Revolutions, I couldn't care less. The first Matrix film was awesome though.

I kinda liked Reloaded. Tons of huge action set pieces in that film. Hated the third film.

But I say, bring it on. I'm all for more Sci Fi, Ghost in the Shell type stuff.

Ghost in the Shell directed by Christopher Nolan? ;) (his first and only 3D film. . .)

yeah i would definitely be down for seeing a couple more Matrix films. I remember I was in middle school when the first trailers for reloaded and revolutions aired during the superbowl. The Matrix was my favorite movie and I didn't look at movie sites and what not yet so I had no idea they were making sequels and as soon as it started, a freaked the crap out. I'll probably do the same with this one :)

And Nolan using an Epic? You have no idea how happy that would make me. I really really really really would like them to shoot The Dark Knight rises with it, but I don't think they will

However there is also rumblings of a possibility that Aronofsky could actually get his chance at Batman once Chris is done with this one and he's done with The Wolverine. I'm not just saying that either, he said it himself in an interview, sorry i don't have the link, but just google it it's sure to turn up. I would pee my pants if my two favorite directors both helmed batman flicks AND the Waichowskis made 2 more (good) Matrix films :)

I'd rather they go IMAX instead of 3D...
Love animated 3D, hate live action 3D

...Reeves revealed that he met with the Wachowskis around Christmas. They told him that they completed script treatments for two more "Matrix" installments. They are planning to make the films in 3D and have already met with James Cameron to discuss the advantages and disadvantages of the technology. Reeves added that he's excited to return as Neo and promised that the treatments will truly revolutionize the action genre like the first "Matrix" film did. »

We hope for the best :)

I have strong beliefs that James Cameron is a good friend of RED.

So now slashfim is reporting that the rumprs are untrue. A bit dissappointing for sure but definitely
Not surprising

My feelings precisely. The first Matrix was great...apart from when he flew off at the end - Bad idea.

Second and third instalment had a few moments. I did love the scene with the Merovingian and Persephone. But added to the fact I couldn't handle such a cardboard actor like Keanu for six hours, I found Morpheus to be annoying as hell and they just got too big and convoluted. Terrible, simply terrible.

Now they want to make more...

I'm definitely with Tom, some really interesting sci-fi with interesting ideas that aren't mind fodder for the masses - i'm all for.

Then again, still waiting for Akira to start kicking off.

The first Matrix was so carefully crafted with script, action and effects all integrated into a cohesive whole where every part contributed and made it one of the ten greatest films of all time in my opinion. Truly revolutionary and a great mind bending storyline that was a great metaphor. Like others here 2 and 3 were way inferior. They were no where near as well written or thought out. They just threw money at a successful franchise and cranked them out. A shame. I hope they return to a great story if they do 4 and 5.
