  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Grateful...

Jim,

I am very greatful that RED gave working pros the option to go with a very intuative technology in the REDCODE REDONE combo.

I feel like being part of this community has elevated my work, has made me excited about making films and has helped connect me to people who think the way I do.

I can not say I have had this many positve professional experiences in one place in my entire career and REDUSER has been a place where I have been able to reach out, connect with the people who work directly with the products and who welcome our concerns.

On top of that we all feel that RED (and all of us) are on the verge of something that will change the way we do things.

I am greatful for the welcome into this house and the atmosphere here.

Pros all the way.

Peace.

David

There is seemingly no objective meaning to life, but we all have things we strive for and that's what keeps us going and keeps us struggling and makes life meaningful to us. Cinema is what matters to me.

I've found myself making posts like "I have no interest in shooting at 24fps" and "I have no interest in shooting at 1080p" and "I would never shoot in anything but RAW" and so on and so forth. If it weren't for RED, I wouldn't have a choice. I would have to compromise on the most meaningful thing in the world to me… but I can say all those things, and I can do what I've always wanted to do, and make things no one has ever made before, all because of RED. That a company could have such a profound effect on my life, right up there with my closest friends and family members, is… whatever it is. I don't have the words to adequately express my gratitude and respect and admiration. You will never hear me bitching about delays because I fully understand what it is I'm waiting for, and am just glad I'm getting it this year and not in my old age.

You're making more than just products, and I will thank you properly one day.

Jim you ARE the best. Not only have you been an inspiration to say the least, but so has Jarred to me, since his early work on DBX then to Red, and all his hard work on the Red team and motivational activities. Please pass on to Accounting that I vote that Jarred gets a raise. If not for Jarred, I would not be waiting to get Epix either. I still use an old Arri, JVCx2 and DBXb while in waiting mode. It's hard to wait for the future now, but in the meantime, thanks to your vision and passion, the Red team is JUST AWESOME.

Everyone at RED that we have worked with has been outstanding. Odd that as a paying customer, we thanking you!

Thank you Jim for how you've made it possible for us to pursue our goals as image makers & storytellers. Without what you & your team have worked so hard to create, I would be without my favourite image-making tool in the world. Without you having the courage to launch before you knew what you were doing, we'd be wallowing in DSLR land (or worse). Thank you for giving us such great tools.

I am very grateful for a company that doesn't roll out plastic cameras each year, that are just slightly better than the previous year's, just so they can model themselves after drug dealers by getting us on the re-up.

For what he has accomplished with this company and for how he treats his customers, Jim is one of my five favorite people on earth.

OMG, just curious about the story of how Jim and Jarred came together I googled Jarred and came across this link:

http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showthread.php?57490-Jarred-visits-Red-HeadQuarters

I'm sure many have already seen this, and sorry for drudging up the past or another forum ... however, it's actually a compliment to Red that I so badly want to know the story of this amazing company and how it all came together.

Also, pretty remarkable -- less than 5 years ago Jarred was probably just exploring the possibility of working with Red. Now, look what has been created (and will have been released by NAB) during that short time.

It's astonishing guys. I've made professional progress in the last 5 years, but nothing like this ..... :blush5:

This openness and the attitude of "what do you think?" is what separates RED from all the others.

It's amazing to know the community gets to be a part of shaping the future instead of just buying whatever we're told is good enough.
So I for one think we are the ones who should be grateful.

Thanks for being out there and that you make us happy with your exceptional products. Your tools are making big smiles on our faces :-)

One year ago I travelled to LA and visited the I belive first official Red Studio event. I came there to make a buying decision. A few months later the RED One arrived at my doorstep. Tomorrow the program series that we made will have it's premiere.
I am very happy with the camera and the result and look forward to epic upgrades.
Thanks Jim and all

Jim
Ive watched this thread since the beginning, and although i don't always post often, i have come to learn so much from red and this community and i am truly grateful to be a part of this community. Thank you for all that you have done and congrats on the enormity of your success. I cant wait to be filming on red in the near future.

Never too big to be right here...

Jim

That speaks volumes about your character and the kind of man that you are. I know I'm not the only one that thinks so, but everyone on the RED team are some really genuine folks and REDUSER is better for it! There aren't many companies risking so much at the same time being so open with their fans and customers. I'm just thankful that you guys are the ones building such bad ass cameras for us to use!

So Jim, would you call this the "Grateful RED" post? And if so, does that make us a bunch of RED heads? And who does that make Jarred? Jarred Garcia? Oh it could go on and on...

Okay that was def funny :thumbup1:

I've been on a reduser about 6 months now. Don't own any RED Camera (unfortunately), but I'm very Thankful for this community, where I learn something new every day. And can't wait to own my first RED Camera soon!
