  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Linux

any news on when RCX will come to Linux?

I don't think that RED have ever said they would, but hey, it uses the Qt framework for its UI and the RED SDK is cross platform so there's not much stopping them except extra development time.

Quicktime would not be available but there are plenty of libraries like FFmpeg that could take its place.

Actually, there is this thing called Quicktime for Linux. Been around for ages, but written by some really weird entity.
Does ffmpg include any codec that could be used for editing? Something prores-ish?
Ah, now that i think about it - Q4L actually is just a subset of ffmpeg.
And then there is gstreamer.
Yes, RCX for Linux, it would be the sweetest thing. But kinda hardish to justify.
