I am working on a project about the last space shuttle and we are going to rent several Red cameras for upcoming launches. My big question is can I put the camera to sleep and then wake it and roll for the launch. We install the cameras about 24 hours or so before the launch. With our stills cameras I am building timers, using Arduino microprocessors, that can wake the cameras and have them ready to start via an acoustic trigger. I know there is a remote switch on the camera but can the camera be put into a sleep mode and then be awakened prior to the launch?

We are also talking about setting up a stereo pair as well, do the cameras sync easily for stereo and can the pair be managed the same for the launch?

Thanks
