  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

3K suggestions?

Hello!
I'm working on a macbook pro editing some dailies of a project shot mostly on a 4.5k resolution.
I log&transfer to FCP using prores option.
Theres a chance I'll start getting some 3K slow motion footage soon. Should I encourage the DP to avoid this format? I've been told that 3k footage cannot be log&transfered well on fcp. Maybe if I convert it through redcine-x? Or any other option available? Any ideas on this matter?

In my case I ONLY use RCX because of onelight correction etc. and you are able to handle every RED footage well with all options...
 
I kinda touched on this in your other post, but it bears repeating: At this point there are better, more reliable options than L&T for converting to ProRes. RC-X is at the top. You can set everything up to render uniform ProRes files (1080, etc) and let it rip. L&T is... Cantankerous sometimes.
