So I attended a Screen Actors Guild screening of The Social Network followed by a Q&A session with David Fincher, Jesse Eisenberg, Andrew Garfield and Armie Hammer. I got to ask David about his use of Red and digital cameras in general and he praised the flexibility that the camera gives him. What an honor. There is no doubt that he is one of the best directors working today.

Thats just dope. Awesome.

Andrew thanks for sharing! That is awesome! I notice that you are in Texas... was the event in Texas as well? I really wish I lived in an area that allowed me to take advantage of things like this.

Awesome, man. Fincher seems like a very smart guy. And of course a fantastic director.

The event was in Hollywood. I live in Southern California but I go to school in San Antonio. I attended a couple of advanced screenings in Texas but there is not much that goes in in the way of films (San Antonio at least), Austin has a great independent film culture though.

I just watched vintage Fincher tonight: The Game. This is one of the few 'A List' directors working today. May he one day make a Western.

Fincher has always been one my favorites Directors, or at least since I first saw his movie Se7en.

It was funny, almost two years ago I was doing a lot of teleprompter work in LA and I got called for a last minute job one morning at like 5am. The first location we arrived at was the Kodak theater which was a cool experience in itself. It was dark behind the scenes and a decent size crew so I couldn't see much other than my prompting computer. We kept on doing take after take and I thought to myself how it reminded me of what I had heard about Fincher's directing. When we got to the second location I finally saw him and realized that it was David Fincher. Having just started in the industry at the time, it was a great experience to be able to sit back and watch him work over the course of the two day shoot, I learned a lot! It's not often you get to work with your role model in the industry.

He was also very friendly when we met after the shoot in passing. He's certainly someone I admire in the industry and it is quite exciting that he has adopted the RED way in recent productions. I am really looking forward to seeing what he does with the Girl and the Dragon Tattoo.
