Certain batteries need a special data communication to charge correctly. For example certain switronix batteries dont charge on anton bauer chargers. Also with proper voltage release and so on. Id call the manufacturer to make sure they qualify with red batteries. As the accessories can be very specific with what they want to pair with. I havent field tested an extensive amount of charges, just reccommending ones i know work for sure.

Somebody mentioned in another thread that RED can fix that problem for $200 each. Can someone confirm that?

I had one charger that had some problems and when I contacted RED they said they couldn't repair them. That was some months ago though so maybe things have changed now.

In the end I had my charger repaired by another company and the price was about $100.

You can also try pulling the central prong outwards in the charger pins. Use a tiny jeweler's screwdriver to gently prize them outwards a little. I've found that doing this regularly (as well as on the Red battery mount) prevents any contact issues with Red Bricks, which inevitably lead to the battery terminals melting.

BTW if anyone wants to buy replacement terminals for melted batteries, I still have a few Switronix ones for sale. US$35 each plus postage.

A 3300 pound battery for about the same energy storage as the Tesla gets in 1000 pounds. In exchange you get to recharge in 10 minutes instead of 3.5 hours. The lithium titanate batteries should last quite awhile, too.
